*winces* Poor Paulie. He deserves worker's comp for all we put him through these days. I love the way Paulie not only thinks of the sandpaper analogy, but even pins down which grade it would be. So like a shipwright.

Ahhh, I feel bad for Paulie yet jealous of him at the same time. I hope he gets some kind of reward. Maybe a little Iceburg lovin' to cool the burn?

One thing I want to mention. The last two words of the fifth paragraph (I think) should be 'begins licking' rather than 'begin licking'. Only mistake I found which means you probably either went through with a fine tooth comb or are an exceptionally focused writer. Either way, well done.

*stares and then laughs* That's great! I'd totally missed the burn/ice symmetry. Unfortunately my Water 7 muses seem to have run away screaming after producing this monster, so I suspect they will be of no help. Perhaps some other nice person will take pity on Paulie and do something nice for him for a change. *looks around at the large number of fics in which Paulie gets screwed over that have been coming out lately* Hoo boy, or maybe not. :-)
