the first thing i read this morning when i woke up was that one of my friend's sisters has died. she was about my age and had a stroke in her sleep. a few weeks ago, we were all having crazy good fun at a valentine's day party. i can't even comprehend it.

four months ago .. touring an audio engineering school in midtown manhattan (not for me) and finishing up with a q+a session from the eastern european dean of the school.

new year's eve 2002, flying from indianapolis to newark to los angeles .. the worst flight EVER, but it saved me several hundred $$. i sat next to two elderly christians that did their damnest to try and convert me. they also assured me it was okay that i didn't have a "nice, christian" boyfriend quite yet, as i'm still young.

reading 'lolita' in my bathing suit last summer, in my backyard by the pool, sun making the pages glowwwwww and my mind feeling peaceful and filled with beautiful words

drinking beers on the rocks by the river in nyc, beautiful him saying beautiful things, and me feeling beautiful in his presence, and walking back to bed stuy through the hasidic neighborhood...

picking up aaron & bama with steph in florida, swimming in our underwear at the hotel pool, and being held all nite with strong arms that i wish could be around me again...

1)spring break of last year, stumbling down Beale St. in Memphis, taking off my shoes to pour beer into them, wearing a golf jacket, convincing a guy that i met that we had played together in a tournament in 1995
2) on the 4th of July, driving with Caroline, setting off fireworks in a church parking lot, swimming in a quarry by lake monroe, reading blender magazine, seeing people almost fall off the roof of space 101, watching rushmore after being up for 24hrs+
3)august of last summer, climbing to the highest point in san francisco with my brothers, looking down over the bay and the city, feeling the wind slap our faces, not wanting to come down
