Races to watch

So besides the obvious, what races are people going to be looking out for tomorrow? I'll be waiting to see if Al Franken beats out that tremendous tool that's sitting in MN's senate seat. I've also got high hopes that California's proposition 8 is going to be defeated, but besides that I'm not sure what other races are really interesting right now ( Read more... )

Washington's current Democratic governor, Chris(tine) Gregoire, won in 2004 after several recounts and then by a margin of 129 votes. It's the same matchup this year between her and scary Republican Dino Rossi. She hasn't been doing well in early voting, apparently.

NC's senate race is CRAZY

Elizabeth Dole has been the senator for like a billion years. Kay Hagan is the democrat... the ads have been getting some national attention for good reason:

There is an attack ad against Kay Hagan which has a picture of along with a voice saying "There is no God", but... she didn't say that. they just totally faked it. its ridiculous.

Whoa. I'd heard something about Hagan being spuriously accused of associating with atheists (and what could be worse?) but I had no idea the context was that bad.
