As a special treat with dinner tonight, John and I had vodka tonics made with Absolut pepper vodka. Am feeling veeeeery, verrrrrrry relaxed at the moment. What I had planned on doing tonight was practicing piano and finishing my novel revisions (just three chapters to go!). But instead, I'm going to watch another episode of Numb3rs, which came

On the plus side, I just got half a chapter revised. The crossing of the ice with the stars as bright as daggers, only this time they've got a minion after them.
Gearing up to write a big wizard duel! Part of the plan to punch up the ending, woo!

You might try Eureka if you have cable. It's on...um...8:00 on SciFi, I think. About one of the few normal people in a town full of brilliant physicists. More the tinkery kind of physicist than the scribbly kind, but still... The science usually makes me want to spork my eyes out, though. The math on Numb3rs is better.

When I was in the hospital last month, I tried watching the SciFi channel--first time I'd ever seen it--and I was SO disappointed with every show that came on.

On a lighter note, I'm suprised that you can't get into tv, given the type of novels you like. Some good tv shows are like serial novels -- tons of fun, and they last longer. So... do you like movies? Perhaps visual media just isn't your thing?

I don't see many movies. Last one I saw in the theater was probably Hitchhiker's Guide. Partly because I can't be bothered and partly because I hate the mall.
Can't get into tv at all, at all. I find long stretches of most shows really boring. Battlestar Galactica? We watched the pilot together and then John watched a bunch of episodes, and I looked over his shoulder a couple of times, but couldn't get interested. We did watch three seasons of Angel together year before last, and I liked it because of the sustained storyline.
The main reason is because I'm so busy. If I watch TV, I don't have time to write. This is not some noble, self-denying thing. I just find writing (or noodling around with writing) more interesting than watching TV.

We do talk about physics at the dinner table, but that doesn't put me off my feed. Or my pepper vodka.
