Garden adventures

Okay. So, I went and sold out to post garden pics, then promptly never posted garden pics. The ones that I have are old and things have changed, but here goes. I dug two plots/beds/whatever you wanna call them in separate parts of our yard. Holy smokes, the one by the tree is a big plot! I understand your death by garden preparation even more now.

My dad always mixed some sand into the area where we planted carrots. Mine didn't grow in our regular dirt because it was too compacted for the carrots to form. However, I do recall the failed attempts at growth looking rather weedy before they became carrot-top looking. We had wonderful green tops and then these pale stringy carrots when we pulled them. :(

Thanks for the tip about the carrots. I'll give them another shot only because Ilona wants to grow them. If it were up to me, I'd move on. And, yeah, the bed is bigger, but it's still really little compared with the gardens my mom and grandma had when I was growing up.

Yay!!!!!
I'm having crazy visions of going to the farmer's market this weekend, buying plants in progress, and putting them somewhere in my new yard. Probably a little more planning and/or forethought would be good here.

Your graph is too tiny--I never had the slightest clue what it was! If I had only known! *lol*
