It was quirky without being funny. Uncomfortable without being unbearable. None of the characters were completely likable, but I didn't hate them either.
I haven't seen it, but I must say-- this describes about 95% of independent film for me. ;) I've watched a lot of that stuff for my boyfriends... I mean fantasy boyfriends.
This movie is seriously haunting me today. It was really depressing! The more I think about it, the worse it gets. And his being-raped face was sooo sad! D:
But yeah, I watched a bunch of crap for Christian Bale. Thankfully, only one of them was depressing and they don't really make him cry in movies. Apparently, Emile cries in almost every movie. o_O'
Oh, Christian Bale. I watched Velvet Goldmine for Ewan McGregor, and Christian Bale was just an added bonus. LOL, cries in every movie? Typecast as a weeper?
I really liked Velvet Goldmine, though, but then I also like Glitter Rock. ;)
Hmm...sounds like a bit of wierd film! I usually only watch independant movies because the object of my affection at the time always seems to do trou down and knickers off. (especially if it's english). This is a good thing in my book, but unfortunately usually involves sitting through nearly two hours of utter drivel or semi-interesting, over the top dialogue!
Hahaha! I'm not worried about you lurking. You keep this journal from being an uninhabited wasteland. :)
Yep, I was totally hoping to see some lovely Emile nudity, but nope! Not in this one. Well, he does play with his own nipples a little, but the context made it more disturbing than anything else. Plus, he had to shave his chest for this role to make him look younger...eeew! :P
But he did get completely naked twice(!) in The Girl Next Door. :D (I might have to go buy that silly movie.)
I will admit to owning a number of silly movies, namely with Jason Isaacs in it! Unfortunately he doesn't get naked and should, yet Ewan "Holy Shit!" McGregor has no problem with it. Go figure ;-)
