having googled it , a spanish article on the made up archaeology of an invented city by h.p.lovecroft- ''The Excavations at R’Lyeh: the methods of archaeology and the prehistory of this [profession, as found] in the fantastical works of H.P. Lovecraft.”

really? someone wrote an analytical article about made up archaeology in a fictional book from 1928 and more amazingly this represents a serious spanish archaeology journal. ????????? i am now more worried about the state of archaeology in spain.

What are Harris Matrices?

Fiendishly complicated flowchart-like diagrams that show the spacial-temporal relationship of layers and features on an archaeological site, usually compiled during excavation.

Harris Matrices f'htagn doesn't have the same ring to it ... mind you, I don't know enough about them to know whether they're more to be feared than a place of the Elder Gods. Most statistics are.

Harris Matrices have been known to cause insanity on simple, one-layer-atop-another-no-slumping-or-redeposits sites. Harris Matrices + alien geometries = -100 SAN.
