Reserves are good for a week. A reservation does not ensure you will be accepted, but your application will be considered first if two people apply for the same character. If there are no reserves pending, applications are on a first come, first serve basis. A reserve will not be accepted if there is already an application pending. PLEASE CHECK THE TAKEN AND WANTED LIST BEFORE YOU RESERVE. Not only will it tell you who's taken, but the wanted list might give you some ideas!
Current characters in the game are allowed to reserve for ship positions they might be switching to. After being accepted for the switch, their reserve lasts indefinitely until they ICly move to the new spot.
Important: You may extend a reserve by one week, and one week only. After that, if you still need more time, you'll have to wait a week before reserving again.
Can't figure out a good position for your character? Don't worry! There are plenty of spots still available for general seamen, which doesn't necessarily have to include grunt work if your character has other skills. Civilians are also allowed on ships as passengers!
Important: You may only have two reserves at a time. Players may only apply for two characters in their first month.
Important: A word of warning, we will not be allowing ship transfers as freely as before. Ship transfers will have to be appealed to captains - and the mod team as a whole - based on plot reasons. We do not want the ships to become balanced only to be thrown out of balance by a massive press of transfers.
Dropping and reapplying or similar circumvention of the spirit of this rule will not be allowed.
