Tonight I caught the 1942 service to Hertford East, which vaguely amused me.

Then the train started amusing itself by saying things like, "this train is for London Liverpool Street. The next stop is Hackney Downs."

Today I've being learning about database constraint engines. I've come to the conclusion that constraints are like handcuffs. Some people seem to enjoy them, but maybe they're not for me.

I've been reading today in the BBC News about our armed forces in Afghanistan, which as you know are over-stretched and doing a difficult job in exceptionally challenging circumstances.

The environmentally friendly initiatives at work sometimes get ridiculed quite badly by R&D, but this week they've done themselves proud. All the fruit drink cartons are gone from the kitchen and in their place we now have fruit juice dispensers supplying an endless flow of orange, apple, mango and pineapple juice for the thirsty masses.
