Am very traumatised at the moment. Was just absent-mindedly flipping through the TV channels when I came upon a public television animal special on snakes, which featured a snake in a cage preying upon a defenceless little guinea pig!! I bred guinea pigs as a child and I found this extremely distressing!! The poor little pigger

I rather agree with this, both about the cuteness of guinea pigs and the general shoddiness of Christmas music. The only two Christmas songs that I can currently stomach are "Fairy Tale of New York", since it has a whiff of realism, in that it's about two people having a fight on Christmas Eve, and "All I Want for Christmas", which if someone you really like is permanently leaving for the US today is really rather a sad song.
