51: Conclusion (Spoilers for Trials and Tribulations under the cut)

Jul 17, 2008 15:04

I left Paris only days ago, but the Très Bien has made me eager to return...if only to indulge in enough fine French delicacies to remove all memory of the swill they dared to call cuisine. A warning would have been greatly appreciated.

I wonder if I might request your services again?

Of course. From where to where?

((Ahahahha, so that's where 'Laurice' comes from. XD *hasn't actually played the games yet, just watched people play a bit here and there, and tried out the first two cases*))

I've been called worse things in my time.

You almost seem to be proud of it.

Most of them were hard-earned.

You mean being called 'dull' has to be earned?

'Dull' is relative, and wasn't what I was referring to.

You're going to a great deal of effort in pursuit of a short meal with someone you don't even know.

Oh? What were you referring to then? Being a workaholic?

Maybe. But the more you refuse, the more I want to ask. :D

No.

A sensible response.

...A compromise, then. There's another errand I must run. For the deliveries and one other worldhop, I would be willing to spare an hour out of my extremely busy schedule.

A dull workaholic who has his nose buried in file after file and who doesn't see daylight ever from the deep darkness of his office?

What, really? Well, I'm honoured. Where would the other worldhop be to?

You continue along the wrong path. I did say the titles were hard-earned. It's almost effortless for me to obtain a description such as that.

As you should be. The location would be Paris. While I'll be shipping most of my property back to the States, there's one thing I'd rather retrieve personally.

I know. But the 'wrong path' is far more amusing than bowing to you and admitting that titles like the 'demon prosecutor' are more like what you would prefer.

That must be something very important, for you to retrieve it personally.

I never said that I preferred them.

I'd rather not subject him to another excruciating plane ride.

Ah well, then.

Him? And what exactly would 'him' be? I doubt it's a child.

'He' would be Sieghard, a champion Belgian Tervuren. I trust you have no phobia regarding dogs.

None whatsoever. I used to keep hunting dogs.

Oh? What breeds?

...Unless they were a precursor to a breed that was later established, of course. Given the range of time that seems a possibility.
