51: Conclusion (Spoilers for Trials and Tribulations under the cut)

Jul 17, 2008 15:04

I left Paris only days ago, but the Très Bien has made me eager to return...if only to indulge in enough fine French delicacies to remove all memory of the swill they dared to call cuisine. A warning would have been greatly appreciated.

I wonder if I might request your services again?

Of course. From where to where?

((Ahahahha, so that's where 'Laurice' comes from. XD *hasn't actually played the games yet, just watched people play a bit here and there, and tried out the first two cases*))

The Molossus dogs. You're right, they no longer exist, but if what I read was right, they are the ancestors of your modern mastiffs and similar dogs.

The mastiffs aren't among my favorite breeds. They're fine animals, well-suited to their purpose, but I prefer the aesthetic qualities of shepards.

If you're willing to provide both transport and delivery services I'm willing to make the payment you've asked for. I suppose lunch isn't an unreasonable price for a trip to Paris.

No? They're beautiful in their own right, really, and they don't resemble the modern mastiff all that much. I'd link you a photo, but they're extinct. There have been statues made of them, however.

I'm willing to. And of course it isn't, especially when you think about the usual air fares. ♥

Impressive. They served the purpose of guard dogs as well as hunting dogs? They seem well suited to both tasks, assuming they're as large as their descendants would indicate.

The fare doesn't concern me. It's the interminable flight I'd rather avoid.

The meal will have to wait. I won't be able to spare any extra time until this weekend, but I'd prefer to handle both errands this evening. If you're available for brunch or lunch on Sunday I'll be free.

They did, and they were excellent at their duties. Now that I've been here for almost a year, I find that I miss their constant nosing around.

Is a flight really that intolerable?

That's fine. I'll see you later then, and then again on Sunday.

I'm sure you could find a comparable breed, if you wished to replace them.

I take it you've never spent 14 hours in a plane?

Sunday, then. I'll have the packages ready for delivery when you arrive.
