Just a quick pity-party... nothing to see here, move along.

I guess it was just my time for bad luck... I have had 2 or 3 other dental surgeries in my life and while I might not have always liked the dentist, the aftermath always left me wondering why most people find teeth extractions and root canals so bad. I feel for you. I've never experienced that sort of long-term pain, but I've heard what it's like.

Sending healing thoughts your way.

Thank you for the healing thoughts. While the pain hasn't completely gone away, it has started to get better. :)

sorry you are still having problems jess_bikerider December 18 2007, 15:38:07 UTC
it is not your fault... in fact if any fault exists, it belongs to the dentist. I hope you at least have decent pain relief now.

Love ya lots,
Mom

Thanks, mom. The pain pills are helping and the sharpest pain has died down for the most part(though, I still don't dare to try cold water.) Dull pain is still some what an issue, but it's not constant anymore and room temperature water is almost comfortable to drink now.

oooh, I've never enjoyed going to the dentist and inheriting my mother's soft teeth hasn't helped much... I feel for you in regard to the mouth pain. If you're on any painkillers, the constipation may be partly due to taking them. Most painkillers have that effect - drinking extra water may help a little. I hope you're feeling better soon. I hope the folks at your job are understanding. I'm looking for a job right now and it's a tough environment out there.

For my job, the real issue was that the tooth issues started right before finals, which is rush time... But I really do think they will be understanding.

I think that you are right about the painkillers. I've been taking light meds to combat the constipation and it has really been helping.

I hope you find a job that will be nice to you when you get sick. I know it's always such a toss up and in the end sometimes it's better to have something over nothing... but still, it's never fun to work for slave drivers.
