Our January was far milder than last year's, but only at night; the average high was lower than historical means, but the lows were toasty-toasty, courtesy of the five solid miles of stratus clouds buffering us from the vastness of outer space. I saw Mars on Monday, for the first time since it began to appear in the evening sky again, which implies that I haven't seen the night sky properly in about four months.

I didn't think you were one of the people that thought true spring would start in February. I was just remembering a young grocery store bagger that complained about the snow coming back after a similar warm spell in February.
I'm just wishing true spring will start in March instead of waiting until May. Here's to wishful thinking. :-)

March doesn't start true spring, for sure, but on the non-blizzard days it's warm enough to be getting on with. Or at least I get thinking so by the time it rolls around.
