I went to get a haircut this morning and on the radio-music-machine they had tuned a station playing that new stuff the kids are listening to today. I was jaw-droppingly surprised at it - in a very positive way. The music is overproduced, AutoTuned, and all - but somewhere in there it turned into stuff I really like. ...that I found today's news that my cholesterol is down to 139 - with no medication! - to be a total high-five moment. Back when I was smoking and getting 1/3 of my calories from Coca-Cola it was in the 220 range. So yay, mostly-vegan diet and elliptical trainer and nic patches!

We've decided to cancel our satellite TV service on account of we don't watch it very much anymore - all the best stuff lately, strangely enough, is on the rabbit ears. And now that they're digital!!! rabbit ears, the aerotelevision looks and sounds better which is no end of weird. We originally set up the service so long ago that our motivation ( Read more... )

But today was, by northern-Utah-in-early-February standards, quite springlike. As in, it was sunny and most of the snow around had melted except that which is in the shade all day.
