Durrhurrr, I've sort of been mentioned on fandom_secrets. I feel like I've become a real person! Even being on the periphery of wank fills me with a strange sense of pleasure...

er, even if it was several days ago and I wouldn't have noticed at all if someone hadn't anonymously emailed me about it... hahaha

oh, it was no big deal, really. I'm translator/nominal head of a scanlation group, and the person actually managing the scanlations added note apologizing for slow releases and asking people not to jump in and release their own scanlations. Although this is a fairly common rule of etiquette among scanlators with active projects, apparently it pissed someone off.)

(I always tell people that they're free to use my translations for anything they want, but that they shouldn't use other people's scans without permission - and that's what happened about a month ago. I didn't think it was a big deal, but there were some hurt feelings, I guess. Unlike a lot of scanlation groups, we don't get our raw scans from Japanese p2p. It takes a lot of time, effort and money to get the Japanese magazines. At no time was it ever assumed that I "own" the series or anything like that. I just post scripts...)

lol, unfortunately it wasn't any really cool wank. But it's a start!

XD Unfortunately, I don't post enough wank-worthy material to appear on wank communities.

Well, for a while, we had someone who was having the magazines imported at ridiculous expense through Sasuga or some other manga shop, and then there are people who scan tankoubons or buy the magazine if they happen to live near a Kinokuniya or something. KHII is by Squeenix, so it must run in Gangan, right? I don't know of anyone who scans that magazine regularly, sorry!

haha, I think I'd be concerned if someone was wanking about me like that!

x___x I JUST noticed that you'd emailed to see if I was okay (obviously, I am!) I was wondering if I should email you since I hadn't heard from you!

...and then I looked at my inbox again. I AM CLEARLY AN IDIOT.

151 on the 2nd, lol. It's not a bad one, but the wank has been festering in other people's LJs for some time. I thought I'd managed to defuse the issue, but I guess not.

LMAO. Oh sheesh, more of that bullshit. =\ I've had so much of it recently with people trying to steal projects. It's just an asshole-y thing to do and us serious scanlators hate it. xD

And Hana-Mi really does do a lot of extra work so that there's a high quality release of the series. I know, I've been there. >_> It's sad that really no one cares about quality nowadays. I did a 70-page chapter in 2 days before. It looked like crap, but the reason we did it was because we needed to have it released asap.

Be patient, people. God, you'll get your fucking free/illegal/many hours worked on chapter of manga. GTFO, wanker.

Well, I don't think they were doing it as an intentionally asshole-y thing. They just didn't know. But I know some of my staff member's feelings were hurt so that's why they asked that no other group use the materials they scanned. I think that's reasonable, and not really a cause for wank. All of the other groups I've worked for have had much more restrictive policies. It's not like we're scanlating Bleach or Naruto and there are a dozen groups ready to release speed scans.

Hahaha, I can't even take credit for all of that extra work. .__. I just translate. The series that I have scanlated myself look so bad in comparison to what the talented Amatsuki cleaning and editing staff can do... x_x I stick to something that I at least have a little bit of skill at.

Haha, but maybe to speed releases I should do some page cleaning or something... surely even a Photoshop failure can handle that...?

Aww, I think you work plenty extra. Anyone that bothers with SFX at all is automatically putting in extra work. lol

Yeah I think pretty much anyone could do a speed edit, but you still do have to sortof know what you're doing. ^^... Really, you don't even HAVE to do re-draws. You could always just take the marquee tool, select the Japanese text, delete to make a white box and throw in the English text. e_e

I don't read it either. There are occasional funny secrets that people link to from other sites, but most of it is adolescent whining.

I thought it was worded pretty well. It's not like we claimed ownership or anything silly like that. It's just putting an unwritten scanlator code of conduct into writing.

Oooh, that sounds rough. Well, I can certainly fill in as a temporary whatever to get our releases moving again. I'm not really good at editing or anything artsy but I can do basic stuff!
