Seventeen years ago, I had just interviewed for a job in Huwei (who-way), Taiwan. You did the right thing which is sometimes pretty hard when you're scared or startled or surprised. Your Southern lady upbringing obviously stood you in good stead.

Let's hope the authorities can figure something out to help the guy and to keep him from reappearing at your classroom door.
