I prefer to think of him as HENRY JAMES: THE THINKING MAN'S VERSION OF FAULKNER, by which of course I mean, HENRY JAMES: THE SOBER FAULKNER WITH SOMETHING TO SAY AND A MODICUM OF SELF-CONTROL.

I prefer to think of him as HENRY JAMES: THE SELF-CONGRATULATORILY OVER-INTELLECTUAL WHO PROBABLY NEVER HAD ANY FUN, EVER. what is your beef with Faulkner? and what do you mean, had nothing to say? can we talk about "The past isn't dead. It isn't even past"???
