Hi. I'd like some opinions please.

How did you feel at the end of book 7? When finding out Harry married Ginny and Ron married Hermione?

Did like it? Love it? Not care? Hate it?

I dunno. I didn't really care what happened in Harry's distant future. So I wasn't really all that bothered. What I'd liked to have found out were details of his more immediate future. How he was recieved in the wizarding world after his defeat of Lord Voldemort and stuff.

Knowing there was a happy ending was nice, but I didn't really need that level of detail, y'know? I kind of assumed he ended up with Ginny and Hermione with Ron. The details of kids and stuff could have been saved for the encyclopedia or a family tree or something.

So, I shrug. Didn't care.

I agree completely. I was most interested in how the wizarding world picked up and moved on after the big battle. As you said, we always are led to assume that, if they lived, the four would pair off as described. There was a lot of devistation after that last fight, though, and I would be interested in how they re-built their lives (immediately, not so far in the future)

Loved it. That's how I expected it to end from early on. I mean, I wasn't sure the book would actually show the two pairs married to each other, but I thought they'd end up together, and I enjoyed the little glimpse of the future showing their children and such.

Honestly, I was more charmed by the fact that Ron and Harry were now officially brothers than I was by the actual H/G marriage thing. I kinda like them, but, eh, I wasn't really fussed. R/Hr, on the other hand is, like, my life, and I was already crying, but I started BAWLING when I saw that they named their daughter after me. ♥

I was NOT happy with it. It contrasted so greatly with the rest of the end that I felt like it was out of place. Harry had been through all these terrible horrific things but suddenly the rest of his life is unbelievably happy and wonderful. The rest of the book had an adult dark tone to it and then that ending was completely different with a fairy tale tone. As someone mentioned above, I was more interested in the immediate effects of Harry's victory.
