My mother took care of my grandmother for 5 years when she got Alzheimer's but there came a point when she couldn't do it anymore. Grandma was argumentative; forgot who my mom was; and needed more physical help than my mom was able to do. Mom ended up putting her in a nearby assisted living facility where grandma lived another 3-4 years, but she really had no sense thats where she was, or even who she was.
Kudos to you for taking care of your mom. It's hard work. You will know what you need to do as far as getting her more help, and don't let it bring you down. You do the best you can for her, but you can't let taking care of her, break you down either.

Just trying to give mom the best ending I can. But there may come a point when I have to bow out.
