This was fantastic. I'm so glad I had a chance to read it.
You set up a really interesting, emotionally charged reason for Spock to come to Earth and then carried through with the emotion without overwhelming the whole piece. That's incredibly impressive. Your characterizations were loyal to canon but also were convincingly altered by the new events in their lives -- I especially loved how McCoy changed as a result of having Spock as a roommate, going from the slightly xenophobic character in the beginning to a person hugely sympathetic to Spock's pain.
The only real critique that I have is that there were some minor spelling issues (Sock instead of Spock, for example) but the piece is so strong overall that they didn't take too much away from the experience.
Thank you so much! And thank you got taking the time to comment.
Sorry about the typos. I was writing right up until the deadline and didn't have time to edit as well as I would have liked. (I almost didn't post at all, but I really wanted to be a part of this big bang.) Thank you for letting me know and I will try to go back and correct those errors.
This is my first full length fan fiction so I am a little nervous!
I have a weakness for academy fics, and yours was just a fantastic story. So glad to see you didn't just spin it off from the movie plot - very original take on how Spock came to the academy!

This story was so touching and Spock's supposedly non-existent emotions were palpable.
Fantastic job!
