I thought in another post you said you enjoyed the mass. Sounds like you have some mixed feelings.
Personally, I have always felt that "the church" is a political organization far more concerned with controlling the masses than following/teaching the message of Christ. My .02
I'd be interested in discussing issues of spirituality/religion. I'm primarily a secular humanist with strong leanings toward ritual and symbolism as a means of self-discovery. Suspicious of most "religion," I have come to appreciate the importance of community and mutual support from people with shared values.
thats mainly what I seek from religion, Community. If you can't feel safe or at home amungst the people/rituals/readings/etc.. then it isn't the way or religion for you. I have dated Mormon girls, My dad was Seventhday adventist[sp] and my mom catholic. I tried many diffrent religions and Catholicism comforts me the most. I Don't only go for the feeling of community, but to learn, not always about god. The readings to this day apply to our ways of living, and we can almost always relate on some basis with them. I guess if you can't see the meanings or understand the ways and do not feel comfortable then you dont fit in. ahh im rambling, still bloody tierd from New years celebrations ;)
