The hard drive that crashed can't be recovered. Before you tell me that's the way the cookie crumbles, understand that I have been cut off from the internet and any casual online communication for the two years I have been moved out. That really stinks, hon. Remember what I said though: it could be much worse. I know two years of important things are gone for you, but you can find a way to recover them, pay homage to them, or start over. At least you have that chance.

Try losing ten years of your life with the last thumps of a heartbeat, and then tell me which is worse.

Actually, every picture I had of James was on that drive. It'd be nice to have those back.
