Today, instead of going to class, I read Gertrude Stein's "The World is Round" and Sartre's "The Flies."

So I logged on to lj today for the first time in two months.

I still live.

This time last year I was wondering through the snow with a very attractive and rather standoffish woman. Also there were lots of intoxicated midwesterners.

This year the drunken folks all have southern accents.

I'm sitting sort of sideways, lusting after the coffee that I haven't had the energy to walk downstairs and make, and listening to Garrison Keillor.

Incidentally, Ibsen's "Ghosts" opened on this date in 1881.

I had lots of worthy wine this weekend. Scott's working on the new wine list so the restaurant is receiving a superfluity of samples. This makes me happy ( Read more... )

I went to class today. Then to reward myself I ate a cookie.

I don't really like cookies.

They have named my sort of death, they call it "the flu."
