I appear to have not gone to bed. I stayed up until ~3 working on something, then figured I would not fall asleep easily if I tried, so I'd stay up a few more minutes until I felt sleepy. I turned around and now it's almost 5am. I have to take my mom to the hospital at 7:00, so... should I try a cat nap? Or just push through? I vote push through ( Read more... ) -

Dear Thelma the Grumpy Nurse,
Perhaps it has never occurred to you that a patient's daughter might possess 1) feelings and 2) a brain. You looked very tired, but I'm fairly certain that didn't give you a right to be a snarkypants to me. Maybe one of the nice nurses can help you remove your head from your own ass.

They started the chemotherapy for my dad yesterday evening, and so far, so good. He actually looks relatively well, came through all the biopsies and procedures in relatively good spirits, and is eating again. I am reading "Raising Your Spirited Child" by Mary Sheedy Kurcinka. I am reading it slowly, partially because by the time I lie down at night I am ready for sleep, and partially because I am re-reading every chapter a few times in an effort to get some of the messages to burn themselves into my consciousness ( Read more... ) -

But I feel like total and complete crap. Flu/summer cold/laryngitis/hurting all over.
Aren't we supposed to be allowed to go to bed when we are sick? I mean, I'm IN bed, but I'm still working. Gah. -

Well, I'm off to NY tonight to do an all-day workshop for a client tomorrow. I am feeling much better about things today than I have in the past couple of days. I put myself through the wringer anxiety-wise early in the week. It was not pretty. I am feeling better, and I think everything will go OK tomorrow.
