Imperfection.
Yunho/Jaejoong.
AU, Angst, Fluff.
Jaejoong saw the world in a different way, and believed that if he can love Yunho in his world, then surely he can love him in any other world.
Prompt: Imperfection.

A woollen scarf and leather gloves. Jaejoong's fingers traced the icicles hanging from the roof, the frozen rain dangling dangerously southern, threatened by gravity and the warmth of the sun. Jaejoong himself, smiled, his gloved hand breaking off a piece of the ice and sat up straight, saving himself from the possibility of falling over the edge, a danger so unrealistic yet so real at the same time. A rush of fear  without actually being scared.

He lifted the icicle to his face, turning it inside his grasp and watching the colours of the city below come together through the sole piece of frozen water. Just like a kaleidoscope. It captivated him, to say the least and he stood watching the world through an icicle, wondering whether maybe things were more beautiful when they meshed and blurred. Imperfect.

As the ice melted between his fingers, it slipped from his grasp and began it's descent towards the Earth. Jaejoong's breath hitched, worry marring his face as he watched the ice gain speed as it travelled the eight storeys that he was standing upon. What if it hit someone? What if they got hurt?

It thudded against the snowy pavement and a moment of relief washed through Jaejoong's veins, his heartbeat returning to it's normal pace.

Jaejoong stood at the top of the apartment block, his eyes searching amongst the icy ground for something - not that he knew what or where he could find it, especially as he didn't know what it was in particular that he was actually searching for in the first place. The ground below was white but depleting as the cars made patterns in the carpet of ivory - the design looking like lines of nothing, but revealing the world to Jaejoong's eyes, his unique sense of interpretation making the tyre marks look a little like the scars of the earth. Everything had flaws, that Jaejoong knew, and so seeing the world's white carpet shifted and reshaped made it complete in his eyes.

Imperfection made perfection.

But maybe Jaejoong was the only one who thought in that way.

Being the way he was was considered a flaw. He was tainted and broken because he'd fallen in love with a person born into the shell of a man - and despite how open minded he thought the world had become, to accept how perfect he thought it would be to have fallen in love with someone so utterly and entirely beautiful, reality had proven him wrong.

Yunho himself had held him close to his heart - had cherished his company and adored everything else. And although both of them knew that as soon as someone found out about whatever it was that had happened between them (Yunho had described it as the intertwining of their strings of fate, whilst Jaejoong had settled for calling it their beautiful mess, but Yunho had always had a way with words - either way it was still a massive tangle of emotions and confusion) they wouldn't be able to be the same again, they still continued to travel the road to destruction.

Yunho's mother had found Jaejoong curled into Yunho's side in his room. Interlocked fingers and noses buried into crooks of necks was not a normal way for two teenage boys to watch a film together. She must've spent an hour screaming the house down, spitting in Jaejoong's face for daring to act like a first class prostitute in front of her son. Jaejoong had spilt his tears when she'd called him worthless and he'd left the house before he could even see the reaction on Yunho's face.

Jaejoong believed that she'd then informed the whole of the world - as his eyes kept seeing disappointed and disgusted faces of strangers that he passed in the streets - of him being the filth that had flawed her faultless baby boy. And Jaejoong couldn't bring himself to deny it, not even to himself.

So he hadn't seen Yunho's face for weeks. Although he prefered the memory of Yunho's smiling face and admiring eyes to what could potentially be a look of regret - and he'd rather think of himself as someone that Yunho once loved rather than the boy that he wished he'd never been involved with.

His mind drifted, thoughts of what it'd be like if they'd done it differently. If Yunho had managed to fill up the spaces in Jaejoong's personality, managed to complete him to the point where they were virtually unbreakable. Would Yunho change his mind and decide that he couldn't see him anymore, just because of his gender? Or would they still be together?

But who said they weren't together? Yunho's mother had banned it and Jaejoong knew how close Yunho held his mother to his heart. Yet they hadn't actually been in contact with each other. What if Yunho felt empty without him too?

Velvet interrupted his thoughts, piercing through the frozen air as Jaejoong's eyes involuntarily widened, "Jaejoong-ah? What are you doing up here?"

Expecting the unexpected, Jaejoong turned coming face to face with the object of his affections, the person who had shaken up his thoughts and emotions more than an angry bull or a chick flick, "Yunho-yah?"

"Don't do it, Jae. I know that this is all fucked up at the moment, but please, don't jump," Yunho pleaded, holding his hand out as Jaejoong's support.

"What?" Jaejoong asked, his face morphing from surprise to confusion, "You think I'm going to kill myself?"

Yunho exhaled, his breath congregating in front of him, a hint of a smile playing at the corners of his lips, "You weren't about jumping off here at all, were you?"

Shaking his head, Jaejoong smiled tenderly as the warmth of Yunho's care filled his core again. He glanced at the hand that remained open for him and then averted his eyes back towards the owner's face, seeing that  he had no intention of putting it down either.

"In this hand I hold my heart," Yunho said softly, the doors to his mind downcasted and glossed over with disappointment with himself, "It's always been yours. Even if you don't want it anymore."

Jaejoong stared at him silently, watching Yunho opening himself up to him again, it was like the first time he finally admitted that he loved him. The calmness of the situation making it all the more sweeter, just like dipping his tongue in honey.

He took hold of Yunho's upturned hand, stepping forwards and surrounding himself in his arms, burying his face in the other's chest as if to hide himself from the world. If he stayed encased in Yunho's arms, he wouldn't have to face the questioning gazes and judging eyes. The latter emitted protection and Jaejoong welcomed it gladly, letting it sink into his skin as his heart became embraced by the warmth of Yunho's breath against his ear.

"Nothing ever changed," Jaejoong whispered as Yunho leant down to press his lips against Jaejoong's nose, red from the unforgiving bites of the wind.

Yunho allowed himself to smile now, completed by the way Jaejoong curved against him like a missing puzzle piece. He felt the other slacken in his grasp as his gloved fingers ran underneath Yunho's jacket, allowing the cold air to wisp it's way across his lower back.

"You're warm," he murmurs deliriously, infatuated by the surrounding wall of safety and unspoken promises. Yunho takes his chance, tracing Jaejoong's temples with his lips and mutters against his freezing skin, "Kiss me, Jaejoong-ah."

In Jaejoong's hazy state, intoxicated with the scent of Yunho's cologne and his need to be loved again, he doesn't hesitate to tiptoe to reach Yunho properly, his tongue peeking out to lick it's way across the pink petals of Yunho's mouth. As Yunho bundles Jaejoong up in his grip even more, the latter attempted to work his name onto the other's tongue, his fingers running circles over the cooling skin of his lover's back. And from the moment Yunho's tongue met his own, Jaejoong knew that they had stepped back onto their pathway of broken hearts and tentative actions, it was a semi-circle with a dead-end and a redirection that led them back to the start - and yet it was Jaejoong's perfect imperfection.
