This whole internet filter plan sucks.

It sucks so bad. And it's making our country seem backwards to the rest of the world.

Thanks for voting :)

Stupid cold that wont die. Since the really bad cold I had in March, I think, when I lost my voice I've been plagued almost weekly. Keep getting these stupid niggling coughs and my voice will threaten to go away again but then it kind of gets better for a few days. I'm wondering if it is the central heating. We barely used the heater at the last place, and we had floorboards there as well, but we're back t carpet now.

Of course it could be the walking to school at some ungodly (yes 8:30am is ungodly) hour in the freezing cold.

It boggles the mind how they can get that kind of response in a poll, albeit a news paper poll, and still be pushing ahead.

And every time Conroy opens his mouth he spurts another lie. Bullshit the ISPs "welcome the filter".

Mindless masses at their best. Any online poll will be massively against it but apparently phone and "stop you in a shopping centre" poll says something else.

I was flabbergasted by the poll conducted by Hungry Beast that said the public was majority in favour of it. I wonder how much that would change if people understood it properly - blocking "socially unaccceptable" sites and slowing down internet speeds so there goes any gains by the NBN!

I'm glad that you as a parent said that you just have to supervise your kids, but then again, we know we're not part of the mindless masses :)

I was surprised when Hungry Beast said that too. How is that possible, unless they were very sure to ask just the right questions to get that response. It's all good and well to say we can't access sites that have illegal content, but the term "socially unacceptable" is just too broad and allows too much scope for misuse.

As far as the supervising kids things goes, I personally don't see that kids checking out porn on the internet is really so wrong. How is it any different from the times my friend Vanessa and I went through her dad's porn stash in the garage when we were 13?
