I was like "uhhh i'm in the airforce" and they said "yeah right, my ass, you're a fucking lier..." then they proceeded to quiz me on rank and regs so I could prove I knew my shit and I really am lol it was hilarious
speaking of defacing stuff i was talking to this guy from Washington DC at our university about America. He said that if the flag falls on the ground its defaced and you have to burn it, does the US military do that?
We dont have anything approaching nationalism and the success of the nation state associated with our flag, occasionally the indonesians burn it but nobody really cares less, the reaction isn't so much "oh my god, what are they doing to our flag!!" as "woo, cool, fire!"
P.S. i just found out i lost the election to a girl with big boobs who just gave people candy - sigh, so much for policies.
damn it I wish you made the election:( you should have gotten implants, slept with the right people or something hahahaha sowwwy and to answer your question, yes you burn it in a cerimonious way, you definantly cannot just burn a flag...like in protest or anything, I beleive you'd have to pay some kind of fine. If I did it, i'd probably be kicked out of the military with a negative discharge since we have our own separate set of laws we follow along with national and local laws. It is called the uniformed code of military justice (it is so strict and sucks in a lot of cases) it basically makes us live a stricter life than civilians. so we get like triple punished for crimes.
