I'm future-dating this FAQ post so it will always be on top.

If you have anything you want to ask me just put it into a comment to this post and I'll try to answer it, and I'm slowly developing an FAQ file too:

Hello!!

Long time no talk, but I realized something.

http://lj-releases.livejournal.com/82710.html

Old communities that have not been logged into will be deleted. My first thought was dn_kink and its copy. Will the copy be safe? I don't know if you know about Dreamwidth (if you're into RP you probably do!) but I'd recommend making a Dreamwidth account for it, and it's easy to import everything over. There are too many gems on that to lose!!

Anyway, I hope you've been well!

edit: Never mind - I misread and it has to meet ALL criteria to be deleted. Nevertheless, I think a copy at Dreamwidth might be a good idea anyway!!

I know about Dreamwidth and I have been worried about LJ's problems, instability, and tendency to delete things.

I have no idea who owns dn_kink and I can't import someone else's journal to Dreamwidth, so it is up to the owner to do something or not. I know comments on the old meme were blocked last time I checked, so I'm not sure if there is any way to alert that person.

As a maintainer of dn_kink2, if I understand the stuff I've read over at Dreamwidth correctly, I could import the whole thing to Dreamwidth, comments included. I'm thinking that'll probably have to happen sometime, but I'm nervous about losing a lot of people in the transition, the same way the last transition seemed to cause a big drop in the number of readers and writers.

Maybe I'll put a post up on the new meme to get user feedback about the idea of moving to Dreamwidth.
