I’m starting my proposal for the big, external scholarships.  I went to the library.  I’ve been reading books.  I’m making notes.  I’m outlining my draft and figuring out what I need to do each day.  It’s so fun!  I forgot that school was a really, rockin good time*.  I knew there was some reason I wanted to go back.

are these scholarships for your PhD or for your MA?

PhD. I wasn’t eligible to apply for the SSHRC this year and, I confess with some guilt, I chickened out of applying for the OGS. Rather than work next year, I’m going to apply for PhD programs for next fall because it turns out that I really hated my job and I never want to return.

I have my little project idea and now I’m doing the reading and making notes. I want to have a draft into a couple of professors for suggestions by next Friday. The internal deadline is October 15th and I can’t afford to wait to do this work when I have to concentrate on classes.

Isn’t going to school exciting? And you should email me with the details of your visit because I seriously cannot wait to discuss all of these nerdy preparations with you.
