House did that to him. Made him furious, then made him laugh. Made him actually admit to feeling things.

This line explains so much about why Wilson keeps giving House endless chances, and why he needs him so.

I enjoyed the story very much. :)

I do think that's a central reason why Wilson needs House.

Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for reading :)

And Wilson would forgive him.

This was wonderful - completely IC and very realistic, IMO, that House would hesitate under the belief that Wilson could do better/want more. Thanks for a great story as always! :)

(Also, I loved the little reference to tumblr. Maybe if House went on more, he'd see that there's actually quite a lot of Hilson support out there ;) )

I like this so much. It's sweet without being too sappy and House is himself and not all mushy.
Wilson's mom doesn't seem supportive at all to me, maybe that's why he never talked about his parents in canon.

Thank you! I was worried it was overly fluffy, so I'm glad you thought there wasn't too much sap.

I said above that I imagine Wilson's mom as being cold...but that may be the influence of the "Ordinary People" poster :) (If you've ever seen Mary Tyler Moore in that movie, that's how I picture Wilson's mom.)

Can I just say, 'Ditto!' as to all the comments above? I really loved this, and could just see House having a moment of crisis/conscience at the worst possible time.

Yeah, I think House might temporarily check out in this scenario, but of course he never drifts too far. Thank you for reading!

Oh, Wilson broke my heart here. I love how you wrote him - his disappointment so tangible, but still doing the right thing - not making a scene, going to the after-party (ouch), and not leaving because he didn't know where to go (more ouch). For a bit, I kinda didn't want him to forgive House, but then, of course, he knows House and he loves him, and so he had to forgive. So I did, too. Lovely.
