This is a great end to the series, and my favorite installment. I love the conversation between them and the explanation for Wilson's belief in the worst possible outcome, which has been accurate all too often. I'm happy that Wilson is willing to try treatment that has a chance of working. I like your portrayal of House as well, and the dialogue between them. Going back to the bar where they met is a great idea. The bull riding scene was great too, very understated and moving.

Beautifully written! Gorgeous descriptions, both of places and of food, and you've got House and Wilson both perfectly. The story moved through such a complex mix of feelings on both men's parts in a completely realistic way that it was like traveling one of those roads where there's something different around each bend.

Well, you know already how much I'm in love with this fic and the whole series. I forgot to mention that I enjoyed Wilson finding the study. I like when he gets to show his medical smarts.

Me, too. I hate (in canon or otherwise) when he's portrayed as dopey. A little dorky? Sure. But not mentally slow on the draw.

that just shows you're a good writer. In one of my fics, I have House slurping mango with great pleasure right before Wilson seduces him and I don't even like mango.
