linus's butt

Feb 17, 2009 16:57

I would like to thank my cat, Sir Linus, for the last 24 hours. He puked for days, and then he stopped eating and pooping, and then puked some more, so I took him to the vet and said please to be fixing. Upon which we discovered this:

I actually laughed out loud when they showed me the xrays. as expensive as it was, it's still pretty funny that my cat had a GI blockage made entirely of a wad of hair ties.

anyway, live cats are more fun than dead ones, so I'll consider it an entertainment expense :P

*throws hands up* I DON'T KNOW. he's been stealing them to play with forever; he will take the one I'm about to use right from under my nose and when I catch him, he does NOT drop it, but looks right at me and runs like a teenager at a keg party. he's fucking OBSESSED.

I knew what it was as soon as they showed me the xrays. I lol'd, and then they told me he needed surgery, and then I was like WAIT WUT. >:[

hahaha. if I bothered to learn how to work my camera, I'd probably have one-- mischief is his MO.

the vet did not seem surprised at all. concerned, a little amused, but not surprised. she in fact related to me that another cat had come in with the exact same problem, and they'd pulled out a very large wad of tangled up hair things from its intestine.

I guess we're going to have to be really careful about where we take them out. we try to put them in drawers & stuff, knowing he'll abscond with them, but I know I sometimes leave them sitting on tables when I pass out on the couch-- definitely can't do that anymore. which probably means I should drink less... hmm.

also-- your journal of chickens is funny. we should be ljfrenz, no?

Pets are like toddlers, they put anything they can reach in their mouth. So cats are that much worse; they can reach anything.

Might as well, litter changing is pretty damn unpleasant by any standards.
