[Richter had heard Gintoki going around asking people to join in on the whole brigade business and while he was no stranger to groups, this one seemed to be a bit too haphazard for his taste. He had the habit of wandering off to do his own thing in the Vanguard as well; this was no different. Though few monsters in Aselia were ever as peculiar looking as the fish that appeared in the complex.

So when the first wave of people made their way to the cave, Richter chose to stay behind and wait out the crowd before he followed one of the fishes on his own]

[Morgana finds herself without a group. She knows she's going to have to meet others soon, but there's this rejection of being here she hasn't recovered from as of yet.

With the mission unclear to her, she watches one group leave only to see one lone man stay behind.

Morgana's never been one to follow the crowd, but one lone person, that is more her style.]

[the fish was taking it's time coming and going. By the time the next fish came long, Richter was wondering if there was any point in this at all. He chose to ignore Morgana when he first started after the angler fish but once they were in the forest-]

Is there a reason you're following me?

Everyone else went elsewhere. That leaves you as the only one left to follow.

[She's usually not so cryptic but she's always one to hold things close to the chest.]

[he eyes her a bit warily (suspiciously?) before turning around and brushing some hair out of his face. His usual dismissing gesture]

Do as you like. Though another one of these 'guides' will probably come by again.

[a 'leave me alone' hint? Either way, Richter does nothing else to attempt to chase off Morgana and opts to ignore her instead]

Usually, if one separates himself willingly, following a different path, there is a reason.

[She is dismissing of his dismissal. Morgana is stubborn that way, so she turns on the charm and smiles brightly.]

And should you need assistance, you could have some.

[he looks over his shoulder at her a moment, as if gauging her reaction... And then turns forward again with a short exhale (a laugh?)]

I'll be sure to keep that in mind.

[but the clearing is just up ahead]

[ooc: do you want to fight a two-headed hyena or have the two reach the cave before the boss respawns?]

[She takes that as tentative acceptance, though she would've continued on, acceptance or not.

Taking a few steps nearer, Morgana's now almost travelling with rather than following this somewhat odd man (though the same can descriptor can be used about her).]

I would appreciate that, sir.

[ooc: Either or, as she has magic for her weapon, so why not fight it? Nothing bonds like fighting and / or killing something together.]

[he holds out his arm, not quite in front of her, but enough to give an indication so stop. The sounds of growling and barking can be heard from up ahead]

... Something's up ahead. [and he draws his sword first, keeping his axe in it's holster] You can defend yourself right?

[looks like they didn't make it in time to enter before the monster respawned]

[Morgana stops, not due to the arm but the beastly sounds. Not having acquired anything greater than her dagger, she can still assure him.]

I can take care of myself.

[Stepping around his arm, in a few meters she catches a glimpse of the beast, could not be called Fluffy by any means.]

[he watches her a moment longer before drawing his second weapon. Going into ruins again... This definitely wasn't what Richter was planning on doing after everything was over back in Aselia.

With Morgana's assurance, Richter steps forward to start the fight. There wasn't a way to sneak up on the monster, not from the angle that the fish had lead them from, but at least they hadn't been caught unaware. And he could always heal if it got dangerous]

[the beast lets out on bark before snapping at the two newcomers. Boss fight, start!]

[Morgana is there to support and the fight will provide her little opportunity to get close to the creature. Then again, Morgana doesn't need to be close to the beast to defeat it.

There is a whisper, and one of the two heads is of the Cerberus/Hyena mix goes limp, as though it's been knocked out by a heavy object.]

[the monster recoils when one of it's heads is knocked out, the one remaining howling in anger. It's attack power has been halved with the temporary loss of one of it's heads but the anger and wariness makes up for that handicap]

[Richter, meanwhile, recognizes the stunned state of the creature and the cause of it. A human who could use magic? Unless she had some pact or another... But that would be something he could look into other time.

He takes the time where the beast is distracted to close in and attack it with a flurry of swipes before slamming his axe into the ground-]

Enduring Autumn!!

[-and having light erupt from the ground, knocking the beast back but not quite killing it yet]

[That's not a spell she knows, making the other man even more interesting. It seems that there is magic wherever she goes here.

All Morgana has is a dagger, but that doesn't matter, a beast that is stunned is easy to kill. Instead of magic, Morgana holds the one unconscious head, and slits its throat, as she has with anything else she's ever hunted. This is no different, and thus her movement is quick and efficient.

Magical creature or not, Morgana's never known a beast to survive being bled.]

Your skills are impressive sir.

Keep your distance. Something that big can still be dangerous, even as it's dying.

[Richter himself still has his sword raised and pointed at the monster in it's death throes. He leaves Morgana's comment unanswered]

[Homura, still attempting to work alone - or as close to it as she could manage, even after her near-disastrous experience with the cats - had stayed back from the main group, kept to the shadows and followed at a safe distance. Though she had acquired Grief Seeds, there was no guarantee she could get more, and so she wished to use her magic as little as possible, to keep the corruption of her Soul Gem to a minimum.

She thought she was far enough behind that she wouldn't happen upon anyone else, but as she rounds a corner to come across two people standing near a dying creature, it is clear that she is mistaken.

She masks her surprise well, stops short, one hand rising to grip the shield on her arm. She does not know these people. It is best to be wary.]
