CHARACTERS: anyone DATE: September 27th (day 12) RATING: PG-13 or so. SUMMARY: The second mission is underway, where the source of the earthquakes can also be found.
[Richter had heard Gintoki going around asking people to join in on the whole brigade business and while he was no stranger to groups, this one seemed to be a bit too haphazard for his taste. He had the habit of wandering off to do his own thing in the Vanguard as well; this was no different. Though few monsters in Aselia were ever as peculiar looking as the fish that appeared in the complex.
So when the first wave of people made their way to the cave, Richter chose to stay behind and wait out the crowd before he followed one of the fishes on his own]
[Morgana, on the other hand, recognizes the new person immediately. Given that she's in the middle of bleeding the creature (and it is down to it's last few twitches of life) it would be inappropriate to smile in greeting.
[Sayaka trails behind, quietly. She has gotten better at keeping herself hidden, at not drawing attention to herself. She trails behind Homura quietly. It is not as if she is concerned for the other girl, far from it. But it is better, she decides, to follow behind someone who at least looks like they know what they're doing. She has never been on one of these missions before, and she doesn't know what else to do.
She stops as well though, at the sight of that dying monster, and her eyes widen in the darkness.]
[the half-elf's own attention stays on the monster, even as two more humans - humans? There's something off about their mana signature, but they were definitely human - approached the clearing. Unlike Morgana, he felt no real need to greet the newcomers]
Most monsters that guard ruins like these tend to be.
[once the monster is sufficiently dead, he sheathes his own weapons and heads towards the gate. What are these 'manners' you speak of?]
[So she thinks, but Hubris can be an issue sometimes with Morgana.]
[OOC: I made an error in timing character wise, so just forget any mistaken recognition from the earlier tag! *Waves something shiny* It never happened.]
[Excitement? Not quite the word Homura would use. But she nods in return anyway, keeping a wary eye on the dying creature.
If she were easily surprised, Sayaka's presence would catch her off-guard. Instead, she simply accepts it, steps to the side so that Sayaka might more easily come forward. She should have been more careful, but she had been so focused on pressing forward, doing something that might yield escape tokens for herself and Madoka, that she had, once again, not paid enough attention to Sayaka Miki. It is a mistake she will take care not to make again.
She regards the Morgana and Richter curiously.]
This is not your first experience with creatures like these?
(OOC: No, I think you were right! Homura mall stuff is Day 11, this is Day 12, right?)
There are people from different worlds here. [he turns his attention to the dead creature] There's a good chance that creatures like these appear in other worlds, if not your own.
[ooc: Correct! The merchants were here the day before the mission, so Morgana would have seen Homura already]
[Homura has seen many things, but nothing quite like this. The magical creatures of her world are patently different, horrifying in a tragic sort of way.]
Are there many like this here?
[She bows very slightly to Morgana. Her own magic has finished the healing process, but she cannot forget the assistance of the night before.]
[A bit abashed at allowing herself to get caught, Sayaka doesn't speak, merely nods in greeting to Homura and stands off to the side.
She watches the exchange between Homura and Morgana, but can find nothing suspicious about it. The Homura she knows would not have asked for help, had rebuffed Mami's attempts at teamwork -- but then, none of them know Homura very well, it seems. It makes her curious, but she is still too prideful to admit that.]
[likewise, Richter also watches the exchange though his attention moves between the three girls (-- two girls and one woman). Definitely human but there was something off. He may have known about other worlds and the potential for creatures that defied explanation but it didn't mean much when the half-elf couldn't even put names to them all.
A fact that just irritated the academic in him]
...
[he turns and heads into the cave, putting all his questions aside in favour of completing this quest. There would be time afterwards for these sorts of discussions]
[ooc: isn't he just a bucket of sunshine? one more circuit or shall we just move to the second part of the mission? 'v' ]
[Homura prefers the silence, and offers no comment of her own. She, too, follows the man, sparing only the tiniest glance to Sayaka behind her. Madoka would be upset if something were to happen to her, after all.]

Instead, she nods.]
You missed the excitement of moments ago.

It's huge...
[Well, so much for keeping herself hidden.]

Fortunately, they are easily dealt with.

[Morgana knows one, but not the other girl, so addresses Homura.]
I hope your hands are healed enough to manage.
