Pretty much what I said.

I hope most parents out there do this. And yeah, I think waiting thirty years was the right thing to do.

Me too. I think you should seal it back up with a lock of your hair now in another envelope and wait another 30 years to reopen them both.

Oh, and for the record, the hair was probably taken close to the time this picture was snapped:

I never would have picked you for a blonde. Have you ever dyed it that color?

I wasn't really thought of as blonde - it was more like light sandy brown, that looked blondish in the sun. It got a little darker as I aged. My real haircolor today is a medium chestnut brown. I keep it a darker auburn lately.

I did dye it blonde when I was 14-15 or so. I don't have a good frontal picture of it handy, but here's a pic where I'm in the foreground with blonde hair, just from the back.

I keep forgetting just how gorgeous you are. Memories are powerful things. I hope they are good ones.

That's really awesome. Makes me wish my parents had done that. I second the suggestion of sealing up another lock now and opening it when you're in your 60's. In fact, I think I'm going to do that next time I get my haircut as well!

I love things that remind us of the far past, and connect the past, the present and the future. It's easy to lose sight of your whole life and get stuck in the day to day routines.

I was born blond too. It turned brown after my first real haircut.
