Sweet. What immune-boosting power do oysters have btw?

Also, I heard of a guy who did an experiment with his coworkers and found that 50mg of zinc per day (proactively) dramatically reduced the rate of illness during flu season.

Oysters are basically living zinc. :) I think two oysters gives you like a day's worth, as well as many other nutrients like calcium, magnesium, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, potassium, phosphorus, iron, and Vitamin B12.

I'm definitely getting sick, which sucks - it won't be as easy for me to make it out to Whole Foods for more oysters as this cold gets worse. But I bet they're shippable... :)

Couldn't I just take some extra zinc to make up for the sex?

Also, sex while sick has lots of pain-reliving side benefits.

Agreeing with most of what you wrote above, and chiming in to add a note about Vitamin D. At your latitude, D deficiency may be less of an issue. I take 4,000-6,000 IU daily in summer, up that to about 6-8,000 in winter, and go up to the tolerable upper limit of 10,000 IU if I'm fighting off some kind of URI/flu.
