What do you all think about this idea for government run health care?  From what i know, it seems to work in France and even Cuba, but our government is run by so many greedy two-faced fuckers that i don't think it would work very well here.  They can't even seem to run the VA hospitals very well.  I just imagine what they would allow to happen to

they have it more or less in some states already.
I think if they did something like they did in Illinois with kids it would work very well.
There they have a sliding scale insurance plan for all kids. Any child who is an Illinois resident can participate regardless of family income. The parents show what they make file the papers and get a price based on how much they make not to exceed a certain price. This price is usually lower than the price for children at low end coverage and covers ALL medical bills including prescriptions for the children involved. Noah has it and it's been a god send with his Asthma. I hate the idea that moving him out here means he may not be insurable because of Indiana's Health care programs.

Personally, I am all for it. I do not like the idea of expecting health care from an organization who hires bureaucrats who's main purpose is to deny health care to people with existing health problems because doing so will keep the costs down for the company. I also think that if the government ran health care, many companies would be more willing to hire full time employees.

Canada works on a single-payer system. The government collects taxes from the people and negotiates with the health-care industry for fair prices. This ensures that all of that tax money which is going to pay for the care of everyone in the country is well spent. This is exactly what Medicare/Medicaid is in the united states

All I'll say is that I think America is the only country filled with people stupid and selfish enough to try and vote against universal health care.
