Yeah, I'm going to join marching band next fall.

I'm resisting the whole "McElroy ruined band forever" syndrome of many Aliso graduates. I think it has the opportunity to a) be a really cool experience and b) introduce me to a good, tight social circle, no matter how objectively dorky that social circle might be. good for you. marching band is a lot more fun in college. everyone already knows what they're doing and they actually want to be there. totally different experience with no stress.

return to your roots :P. that's awesome man. tell me how that goes. and is it just me, or was marching band the most key/central thing in our pre-college lives? like it was what let us hang out all the time (cause we all had the same schedule) and meet the other 100 people in it because you all spend the same 20 hours a week on a football field, and it let us do what we really liked (music)..

ahh I miss it. good times all around.

exactly. it was basically the thing that my life hinged on for a good 6-7 years, including middle school. and it introduced me to most, if not all of my closest friends. beyond that, i love music, and i especially love playing music.

i'm only hoping to have as good an experience as high school truly was (despite the psychotic at the podium).
