Magikal Moments

April is the month when I renew my dues to Magic Societies. I have been a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM) and the Society of American Magicians (SAM) for the longest. I received my yearly SAM membership card in the mail over the weekend. I was shocked to look down and see my member status: Associate Member for 20 years. ( Read more... )

I know there's a Dallas chapter of the IBM (and I think a Denton chapter tried to start up a couple of years ago), although I've never attended their meetings. I can't remember if the Dallas SAM chapter disbanded or not.

Associate Member for 20 years. Damn, when did I get that old?

I didn't say I was sooo old, just wondered when I got that old. Associate Member is for members over 17. I joined as an Associate Member, not a Junior(Young) Member, which is for kids as young as 7.
