Poor sales in the semiconductor industry made for a bad year for my company. Three of us were laid off today.

If anyone has any leads for a Technical Writer (I write instruction manuals, online help, training materials, and do web pages) let me know the info or I can give you my résumé to pass along.

In the ideal world, McAfee is supposed to be hiring some new technical writers soon. Of course, in the ideal world, they would already be paying my husband for the job he's already been doing for 5 months now.

They're actually a very good company with great benefits, I'm just (obviously) frustrated with the fact that some recent reorgs have directly impacted my nearest and dearest. They compensate their technical writers at a reasonable rate, and the corporate culture is one of the healthier ones of the type.

Unemployment ain't no place for sissies right now. Hopefully, tech writers are in high demand than designers.
