I really like it too, but it happened a bit by accident. My original plan was a black/burgundy colourscheme, 3 burgundy walls and 1 grey, with burgundy/black furnishings, but after prepping the walls white, and starting with the red, I realised the red I'd bought was far brighter than I had thought and worked better with the white than it would with grey, so I went with it. It turned out nicely, once I bought bedding to match.
The 'lightness' of the room is making it a bit hard to sleep though. The white walls reflecting the light from the alarm clock makes the room brighter than I like, when I'm trying to get to sleep. I'll get used to it, I hope.
I'm glad to know that the Guilt Complex is still working! You forgot to mention in your post that this was supposed to be the visit for my birthday - and that you didn't even send me a card!! Sackcloth & ashes for you my lad!! God I'm a bitch! After you have already sorted my ipod out for me as my present! (it's fab, by the way). Steve don't worry about it. I'm so pleased that you are in your new place and it looks wonderful. I'm loving your floors! See you when you are sorted.
Ooh, I'd forgotten I'd already done your iPod as a Bday present! Just as well you reminded me or I'd have bought you another present :)
Are you busy this weekend? I could use a break from decorating and DIY, as I havn't done anything else for the last month! Now I finally have the Living Room complete, I feel happier about taking a day or 2 off.
Damn!!!! Me and my big gob! I still think it would be rude of you not to be be bearing at least a small gift, don't you think?
I don't have any plans for this weekend and you would be most welcome. Please bear in mind though that I am still not on the best form as my neck is still not totally right and I am on pills galore. It didn't stop me from enjoying Emma & Stuart's visit last weekend but I wasn't exactly dancing on the table (for once). Just drop me an email at work (I don't pick up yahoo every day)or give me a call to let me know if and when you are coming.
Mum xxx PS. At some point over the weekend Mal & I will probably visit Sheila in hospital as she had her hip replacement yesterday.
Yes, you must visit. I have lots of shiny things. And structured cabline. And a server room, and lots and lots of tiggers.
Which are my family's fault. They keep buying me the damn things. My mum and sister decided, about 16 years ago, that I had a tigger fetish, and have been buying me tigger-themed presents ever since.
(Yes, it is. I was talking to steer at the end of B Movie & I didn't know that he'd moved to London, & he made me feel guilty for not reading LJ... So I have a brief scan of a few people's.)
Ahhhh. All become clear. Thus the Hobbes icon, also?
My mum did that to me, too, once. Lots of Frog presents. She hadn't quite got that when I say I like frogs, I mean /actual/ frogs. Green wet slimy hopping type. Not ones in rocking chairs reading the FT. :-)
But sometimes she gets it right... For example, when she bought me a CD of "that Goth music you like." :-) Actually, I really do...
OK, so, a tad unclear on the concept, but in a good way!

I must come visit & see it for real.
I am a little surprised by all the cuddly toys, though. I didn't realise you were a closet Plushophile...
