i saw this on my friends page, or as i now call it, my emily photo gallery, and it reminded me of this exposé i saw on like 20/20 or dateline or something about how if they're trying to sell meat fast, it's probably waaaaaaaaaay past the expiration date and they just stamp new dates on it. but that was a while ago, so maybe the super market industry cleaned up its act.
