Ya know at first I was going to give you a bunch of shit for driving to Canada for a damn donut. But after reading those wonderful prose of yours I have to admit that was pretty cool. Im gonna have to get myself a bike or at least a scooter some time next year when the weather clears up again. Im coming to you when im ready to buy.

Feel free to ask me any time. I'll either have some advice, or can tell you where to get some advice.

Well, the evening before, I was about to go into a TH, but stopped to help someone with directions. By the time I was done, I had to go make camp. Therefore, no donut that night.

Polite to a fault? Yep, very Canadian. ;P

Always entertaining, and they wonder why Tim Hortons has put out add campaigns of people travelling across Canada, stopping in for pick me ups at Tim Hortons. Seen them on both Coasts, the End of the Road heading North and in the Center.

But more fun to laugh when I first saw one in Maine and asked didn't we cross the border?

Wish I'd known you were about, but sounds like Jersey helped you out with the friendly Canadian Part of your adventure.

If my schedule wasn't super-tight, I would have figured out a way to hook up with some folks up there to socialize.

I'll have to come up sometime for a game or something, and bring Natalie along. Everyone knows that she's the popular one. :)

Did you actually tell the border guards (coming back) that you went for a donut? We've found there is relatively little hassle if you tell them your visit was for something odd.
"We were camping"
"You took THAT camping" as the guard points to the skeletal spider victim
"No, we made that while camping"
"Please. Just go. Go through."

Yeah, that's a direct quote in the ride report. He seemed confused, and pretty quickly let me through.

The thing is, getting into Canada is always fairly simple. Getting back into America is usually the hard part.
