Things I am less than thankful for:
(1) The skin ulcers all over my legs that won't heal and make it near-impossible to walk.
(2) The unstable state of my insides, which haven't wanted to let me eat more than a slice of dry toast for the last week or so.

Gerard and I were together for Hallowe'en, but it's not quite the same thing. And we're both mourning the fact that we can't be together for Christmas. But he's hopefully coming down again sometime in late Jan. or early Feb., which is a good thing. I wish you and Doug could be together then--or any time; better yet, *all* the time!--too. Being without your loved one is terrifically hard; obviously, I know this from experience.
*sigh*
Anyhow, at least you're together for the moment, and I'm sure you'll be together sometime in the future as well. The sooner, the better, of course.

*If perhaps not quite so adventurous or eventful as the one in my dream last night, where you two had, among other things, gone for a picnic in the park -- and a long hike that seemed to involve a certain amount of (?) technical climbing.
