Boo, am crap

Jan 24, 2006 08:00

I utterly failed to walk to work this morning, as planned. It's been a very long time since I did it, thanks to leg ulcers etc., but I need to get the ability back or I'll be in deep kim-chee when mom leaves.

Maybe I'll try to walk home this afternoon...

Presumaby being in deep kim-chee is somewhat like being in deep shchi.

Neither one is very pleasant, I would imagine!

I dunno, I think you're less 'crap' and more 'recovering from a long illness,' myself. The fact that you're motivated to get better and feel down when you don't meet the goals you set for yourself (there are plenty of people who'd just shrug it off, after all) says great things about you :)

Aw, thank you for that. :) Walking has never been my best thing, so I need even more motivation than average to get myself moving...

(And: ooo, nice icon!)

*nod* I understand. I don't have any motivation to get in shape, myself: grad school's helped inasmuch as I'm running around campus like a ninny (and the campus is friggin' huge) and I'm poor and therefore don't ever have a large quantity of snack foods just hanging around my room.

And you can steal/use/enjoy the icon if you'd like :)

I also recently made this one, which you'd probably like. I'm debating a good caption to put in. Any ideas?

"God help us!" seems a likely caption for that expression.

You are not crap. You're recovering from a devastating illness, still not feeling well, you have leg ulcers -- getting up the energy to walk is difficult normally. Under these circumstances, it's Herculean. If you manage to walk home this afternoon, I'm very proud of you. Maybe you could walk part way, catch a cab if it's too much the rest of the way?

But if you don't manage it, cut yourself some slack.

Thank you! I managed to walk home today. It took a while, and there was lots of resting involved, but I made it. :)

You are *amazing*. I'm very impressed. (You also shamed me (without intent, obviously) into taking a walk of my own today. I mean, good God, if *you* could attempt it, I certainly shouldn't be shrinking from it, with far less difficulties.)

So, thank you, and YOU ROCK!

Well done! I'm glad you managed it - partly because now, maybe, you'll feel a little better about yourself? I'm sorry your body is still in revolt. This winter thing probably hasn't helped much, either, though you get less of it than we do, as a general rule.

*hugs&wishes*

Is your mother due back soon?

Don't be so hard on yourself! Being crap is me not wanting to walk from my den to the kitchen to get myself some juice, and I am not recooperating from something major like you! Give yourself a break :0) *Hugs*
