I can't believe this. Not a single mention of what is being done about Rex stranding and zombifying us all. No apology from his Warden for letting this all go on under his nose. No nothing. We're just expected to clean ourselves off and go back to pretending that nothing happened ( Read more... )

warning signs, pretty little anarchist, lol sanity, sometimes the wardens suck

You're right. We should have noticed.

It's Wanda, isn't it?

Yeah.

I would be satisfied with knowing that something meaningful will be done.

I can't tell you what's going to happen, this time. I'm sorry, but I can't. But you're right that our system needs some changes to keep this from happening again.

I heard about... what happened to you. About the vampire. [She tries to keep the loathing out of that word, but it's difficult.]

I hate being a gadfly about it, but someone had to. These jackasses who keep trying to shout me down should be thanking me for going to them for justice instead of taking it into my own hands. But all they see is that "Wanda's being uppity again".

The fact that he was a vampire only figured in in that he was more powerful than me. Something which shouldn't be, but my currently absent Warden is an absolute miser with my abilities. The problem was that Franklin Mott was possessive, scheming and completely crazy. The problem was also that he did not get punished; he got rewarded. He got to go home.

Wanda Maximoff. Such a pretty name.

I happen to agree. They're irresponsible, aren't they? Uncoordinated, avaricious lot, turning a blind eye to the actions of some and running roughshod over others.

This is what happens when you allow inferiors to hold positions of superiority. When ruthless imbeciles are given power and no limitations. It's unchecked, and who suffers? You.

You poor girl.

Everybody suffers. Not just me. It's not just about me. Your sympathy's appreciated but...

I just have to make sure this is handled better than my kidnapping was. I have to.

...

I keep wondering if they would do better if they weren't mostly flatscans, but...that's not exactly something I'm supposed to be admitting.

Is he even in zero? Or are they just letter him wander around?

No idea. We're not allowed to know apparently.

That's dumb.

Although I've got a way to find out if he's down there, if you're game.

I just want justice. For once I want something to not go unanswered. Not again.

Mott?

Oh fuck.

You sure you want to be the messenger in this situation? I don't blame you if you don't.

For once, I agree with you. Last time this happened revenge was taken against Rex quite adequately, but according to the wardens both acts were equally horrific. Because apparently mass mind control and indirect murder is just as terrible as one killing.

Then again, since Rex managed to achieve mass murder this time, I can only imagine that the stakes have changed somewhat.

I will never understand how people can even experience an injustice themselves and still scramble to defend the perpetrator.

It's a fundamentally illogical behavior. I can only assume that people's growing lack of reaction to being killed is a symptom of becoming so traumatized by their experiences they can no longer register them as mattering.

Either that or they retreat into not giving one single damn about the suffering of others. I thought these Warden people were supposed to be "the good guys", but the bulk of them sure fail at it.
