Kate, I think that sometimes people think that having a doctorate, no matter what field it is in, gives them the right to be rude. Other than that... This woman is a bitch.

I can tell you for a fact that there are several professors in Sociology that are mentally unstable that probably wouldn't have a job were they not already tenured. Those people scared me.

my heaven! what an insult! i would be so mad if that happened to me. she could have just said "no" but had to add that extra bit of drama, "i rarely decline to write a blah blah blah". that to me is why i think it feels like a more personal attack than a professional judgement. sorry man. boo on her.
