It sounds like you are TOTALLY not comfortable. And you have every right not to be. He sounds really WEIRD! I guess it all boils down to if you really and truly need this job. If not, I suggest you wait it out, until something better comes along. Or you could work there and it might not be so bad. Maybe he's trying to intimidate you to see if you have what it takes..

woohoo. Congratulations. When I first got hired, my boss told me similar stuff too, but not as wierd as the guy told you. Meep. And that sounds like the money woudlu be good, though. 35 per removal, and 50 for funerals is grand to me...

From what my coworker tells me, the FH I'm at now pays $65 per removal and $85 for a funeral. That's a huge difference in pay!

I mean, I do consider the locations: the one I was at today is close to Baltimore City, Rob didn't want me to work there b/c it is kind of a craphole area, and the FH I'm at now is with the rich, snobby folk...

It's fine to tell him you'd like to think about it for a day and get back to him. YOu aren't obligated to take the job and if you are comfortable, I'd say keep looking.

I don't think you should quit school for the job. It sounds like a great opportunity and something that you really want to do, but it also sounds like you would be giving up a lot without really getting much back. I'm sure someday you'll get an offer that completely fits what you're looking for. Go with small changes, not giant jumps and stuff. Oh BTW don't think I'm dumb but what exactly is a removal?

Well hello stranger!

No, I'm not quitting school...I happen to work AT the college. LOL It's just, my time there will come to an end anyhow (June 30th) so I'm looking for a permanent fulltime job b/c in the fall I will be starting at another college and those classes are only offered at night, leaving my daytime free for a *real* job.

It's not a dumb question: a 'removal' is what they call picking up the deceased from their home, nursing home, hospital, etc..."removing the body"
