Actually, smartass, it's happened several times, and I have already spoken to the people in question. I thought it was an interesting general issue for how people communicate today

As someone who has done this, I value the ability to signal this way. It's like saying something cryptic in real life, but when things are going on I often don't get to be around the people I want to receive such information. There have been, in the past, people who read my LJ who weren't particularly in direct contact, and it provides a channel of information flow. And it's kind of fun to make up the post, and read other people's when they do it ;)
